I will ensure the Sheriff's Office operates with utmost integrity by holding myself and the agency to the highest standards through clarity, communication, and fair consequences, coupled with fiscal transparency like public budget reports and audits. This approach is foundational to public trust, safety, and effective service, aiming for an agency Spartanburg County can be proud of.
Community Oriented Policing
I will implement community policing by establishing a COPS Unit across 7 districts to build partnerships, listen to residents through surveys, and ensure compassionate engagement, especially during critical incidents. This strategy aims to move beyond mere enforcement to shared responsibility and empowerment, fostering trust and making neighborhoods safer through collaboration.
Supporting Our Deputies & Their Families
I am committed to addressing deputy morale and retention by advocating for competitive pay and providing strong servant leadership. My plan includes comprehensive health, wellness, and fitness programs, alongside pastoral and spousal support systems, to ensure deputies are well-cared for so they can best serve the community.
Reforming Detention & Reducing Recidivism
I will focus on breaking the cycle of recidivism by expanding mental health and counseling services within the detention center and ensuring continued support and mentorship for individuals post-release. This approach aims to give people a real chance at transformation, thereby preventing future crimes and creating a safer community for everyone.
